Deportation Orders, Dublin II Regulation Transfer Orders and Removal Orders
Deportation Orders, Dublin II Regulation Transfer Orders and Removal Orders (Sections 17 and 22 of the Refugee Act 1996).
Deportation Orders, Dublin II Regulation Transfer Orders or, in the case of EU Citizens, Removal Orders, are enforced by the Garda National Immigration Bureau (GNIB).
A failed asylum seeker or any person served with a Deportation Order, Transfer Order or Removal Order is obliged to leave the State and failure to comply may result in arrest, detention and subsequent deportation.
Option of Voluntary Return
An asylum seeker whose claim is rejected by the Minister may opt to voluntarily return to his/her country of origin. The International Organisation for Migration (IOM) may give assistance to enable a failed asylum seeker to return home
