Garda Síochána (Compensation) Acts 1941 and 1945
The Garda Síochána (Compensation) Acts 1941 and 1945 provide a scheme for dependants of members of An Garda Síochána who were fatally injured and for members who sustained non-fatal personal injuries maliciously inflicted on them in the course of their duty to apply to the Department for the Minister’s authorisation to seek compensation via the High Court.
