Minister announces the appointment of a new Human Rights Commissioner
The Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform, Mr Dermot Ahern T.D., today announced that the Government has decided to appoint Mr Conleth Bradley S.C. to be a member of the Human Rights Commission to fill the vacancy caused by the recent resignation of Mr Mervyn Taylor.
In making the announcement, Minister Ahern said: "I would like to wish the new Commissioner well in his new post. I am confident that Mr Bradley will strengthen the considerable body of expertise and knowledge currently residing in the Commission."
The Minister also paid tribute to the dedicated service that Mr Mervyn Taylor gave to the Commission since its formation in 2000.
