Minister for Justice and Equality (Deputy Frances Fitzgerald): I propose to take Questions Nos. 163 to 165, inclusive, together.
I am advised by the Irish Prison Service that it conducts an analysis of the snapshot of the prison population on the last day of each month. Accordingly, an analysis of the snapshot of the prison population was conducted on the 30th April, 2015 shows there was a total of 1,906 persons serving a sentence of less than five years, of this 145 persons were aged 18 to 20 years and 475 were aged 21 to 25 years.
