Private Security

The Private Security Authority (PSA) is the regulatory body for the private security industry in Ireland. It was established under the Private Security Services Act 2004. The industry employs 20,000 people across a broad range of sectors and has an estimated annual turnover in excess of €350 million. The role of the PSA is to improve and maintain standards in the provision of security services in the State by operating a standards-based licensing system.
