Procurement Strategy Group
Procurement for the Department of Justice and Equality and some related agencies is organised by the Procurement Strategy Group. The primary role of the Group is the advancement and refinement of procurement and purchasing practices/activities within the Department, towards best practice.
The Group's strategy is to mandate the use of shared procurements at every opportunity especially those placed by the National Procurement Service but also in bilateral cooperation with other civil service organisations. The Group is committed to using the common terms and conditions which are being published by the National Procurement Service. All procurements over €25,000 are published to etenders and to the European Journal as appropriate. Purchases which previously were handled by multiple small procurements are being bundled together to minimise duplication. Future procurements will now seek measures which can support streamlined electronic billing arrangements. The Group does not maintain lists of interested suppliers or take out advertisements as each opportunity is published. Headline information about current and forthcoming Justice specific procurement is set out below.
