Request for Submissions - Preparation of a Draft Irish Language Scheme
REQUEST FOR SUBMISSIONS
OFFICIAL LANGUAGES ACT 2003 – PREPARATION OF A DRAFT SCHEME BY The Department of Justice and Equality
The Department of Justice and Equality is preparing its second scheme in accordance with Section 11 of the Official Languages Act 2003. It is proposed that the second scheme will run for three years from the expiration of the current scheme.
The primary objective of the Act is to ensure better availability and a higher standard of public services through Irish.
The Department now wishes to invite representations in relation to the preparation of the new scheme from any interested parties. Submissions, which will be made available on the Department’s website, should be forwarded electronically to: achtteanga@justice.ie. Alternatively they may be posted to Charles O’Connell, Corporate Services Division, 51 St Stephens' Green, Dublin 2.

The latest date for receipt of representations is 5 p.m. on 16 July, 2009.
